Missions Mobilization
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)
The Missions Mobilization Team oversees and promotes missions in the church so that we will be a “Great Commission” church that is informed and involved in God's work around the world in praying for missions, giving to missions, going on missions, and sending those in the church who are called to serve the Lord as missionaries.
Our Ministry Service:
Missions Education: We promote missions education for all segments of the church: adult, youth, and children by using the missions material from Western PA District. We also use the Alliance Video Magazine and aLife (denominational magazine) to educate the church.
Missions Presentation and Prayer: Each month we present to the church a country where the C&MA works and prayer requests from that field.
Promoting for the Great Commission Fund: We encourage the church to give to the Great Commission Fund (which supports most of our C&MA missionaries) by showing videos about what God is doing through our missionaries around the world.
Promoting Compassion and Mercy Associates (CAMA) Services: We promote and educate the church on the various ministries that CAMA workers are involved with around the world. CAMA Services workers are supported through the CAMA Advance Fund which is separate from the Great Commission Fund.
Educating about Marketplace Ministries: We educate about Marketplace Ministries' workers in various countries around the world. Marketplace Ministries' workers often work in closed countries where traditional missionaries are not allowed to work.
Missionary Updates: We communicate with “Our Missionaries” and share with the church about their lives, their ministries, their praises and prayer requests. We normally receive our missionary's prayer updates regularly which is helpful for communicating with the church. These prayer updates are posted on the bulletin board in the office wing foyer.
Special Projects: We have sent things to our missionaries during Christmas such as video greetings from church members, homemade cookies, or Christmas cards to remind them that we have been thinking about them and praying for them.
Annual Missions Conference: We plan and conduct the Annual Missions Conference that involves children, youth, and adults. We plan different events focused on the missions theme. The team regularly meets and makes plans for how we will conduct the missions conference so that it will be exciting and a great opportunity for everyone in the church to be encouraged and blessed by what God is doing through the lives of the missionaries and their and ministries. We also want Missionary Conference to be a time when our missionaries can be encouraged and refreshed through our church.
